VB RANKINGS: Elkhart Memorial overtakes Muncie Central in 4A

The Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association has released its 10th set of volleyball polls for the 2009 season, and we have a new leader – again – in Class 4A as Elkhart Memorial swaps spots with Muncie Central in moving from second to first.

 

That’s the only change in the state’s largest enrollment classification, but there’s plenty going on elsewhere this day ahead of postseason play:

• 3A: Bellmont swaps spots with Mishawaka Marian in going from fourth to third, Indianapolis Chatard does the same with Roncalli in moving from seventh to sixth, and Batesville makes it a trio in changing with New Prairie from ninth to eighth.

• 2A: Fairfield swaps spots with Indianapolis Ritter in going from seventh to sixth, Wabash rises one slot from ninth to eighth, and Heritage Christian enters the Top 10 at No. 9.

• 1A: Springs Valley swaps spots with Wes-Del in moving from fifth to fourth, while Trinity Lutheran enters the poll at No. 10.
